My Story
My story is one that is was dull and dim, but is now bright and shiny. Several years ago, I had a large country gift shop in our area that everyone knew and shopped at. I sold candles from the largest candle company in the country and was one of the largest dealers. I thought that we would be a snowbirds in the winter in Florida and have my employees running the store. Well, there where other plans that I didn't figure into the equation. I became very ill and spent the next 10 years off and on in bed and in and out of the hosptal. I also, had back trouble, so they said, I would eventually end up in a wheelchair and pass away. It was a long period of time that affected my life and my family. We moved to Florida and Bob's job fell through. We ended up coming back to no home and no job. Everything was gone! But, through it all God was faithful and we moved in with family and started over. I was able to try and go back to school on an occupational work program. I did get my teaching degree, but haven't been able to do much because of all my health issues. Bob finally got a job and after a year God opened the doors for us to purchase a house. We got moved in and were so grateful fo have a roof over our head that was ours. Little did we know that this house that became a home was all in God's plan for us. I was out at a show one day and saw another Scentsy lady. I was introduced to Scentsy when it first came out, but I didn't want anything to do with it because I loved those jar candles. The problem was that I pass out for several hours and several times and I could have burnt the house down and I wont' be able to get out. One night we had company and when they left I remembered to blow out the brand new large honeydew jar candle had to be blown out! Oh my! It blackened everything in our new bathroom including the white door. No more flame burning candles in our home. Not safe with an open flame. So at the show I looked everything over. She had a piece that reminded me of the pottery that I loved and use to sell. So I bought it! I got home and in a half hour Bob wanted to know what that smell was? I said, nothing! I looked at the catalog and called the lady because I was use to buying everything wholesale, so I thought if I could get it at cost I would. So she told me to go on line and just join. So I did, only for the discount. I began to share Scentsy slowly. After 2 years, there was a trip to Atlantis that we could earn! Well, I am a goal setter and thought maybe, we could do this. So we startied talking to everyone and doing shows. That was that begin of our journey! We have been able to travel over all the world free and enjoy meeting so many wonderful friends. God has opened so many doors of opportunity to minister to others. Little did we know that, that was the beginning of the most wonderful journey and that it would change our life forever. I love to tell our story and share my love of having our home smell good along with all the other products Scensty has to offer. We are living the dream and thank God everyday for his blessing and being able to get around again and to bless others by introducing them to Scentsy or helping them to create their own story!
